Entry Requirements

Although there are no entry requirements outlined on training.gov.au, all learners with English as a second language (ESL) must demonstrate ONE of the following to meet minimum English Proficiency requirements:

1. IELTS 5.0 or other English scores accepted by Department of Home Affairs (DHA) such as TOEFL ‘PBT’ 500, TOEFL ‘iBT’ 35; PTE Academic 36; Cambridge English Advance 41; OET ‘Pass’,

2. Request to sit for Qii’s Internal English Test and achieve the required scores,

3. New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) Level 3- General.

Alternatively, learners can request to sit for Qii’s Internal Language, Literacy and Numeracy test and achieve the following results. This also applies to all domestic students:

  • 3 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Learning
  • 2 in Numeracy.
*Any students who do not immediately meet the exact entry requirements by up to 1.0 of mark in any individual area of the test may be given additional exercises and LLN assessment material to build their skill knowledge to fill the entry requirements gap before commencing the course.

Delivery Structure and Modes of Study

The full-time delivery involves 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.

To reach the 20 hours delivery requirement, each Unit of Study will have 2 days per week (14 hours) face-to-face classroom training and tutorial, and 6 hours of scheduled Course Related Information Session (CRIS).
Classes are scheduled with timetable provided to students during orientation.

In some cases, students may apply to complete up to one third of their course via distance learning. All distance learning, or ‘self-study’ Units will be timetabled to be completed alongside another face-to-face Unit and will be supported by scheduled tutorials for additional assistance should it be required.

Course Description

Upon completion of the Diploma of Leadership and Management, you shall gain the vital knowledge and understanding of organisation, managerial, communication and marketing concepts for a career in any industry or organisational role.
For existing Managers and/or Supervisors, the disciplines and practices acquired throughout the training provides exciting challenges and new opportunities to re-engage with their main focus within their organisation. Typically, this qualification can also be an excellent induction module for newly promoted staff, and a differentiator for those looking to change their career path or add value and accreditation to current managerial ability.
The Diploma of Management program is ideally suited to a wide range of professions which offers inspiring challenges to ambitious individuals.

Pathway

On completion of BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management, candidates would logically progress into BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. As our courses are strictly mapped against the Australian Qualification Framework, credits can be given towards a degree course at university within the Business/Management discipline.
